On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Joining him were senior leaders, officials, and many worshippers, as they gathered to mark the beginning of the significant religious festival.
Following the prayer session, Sheikh Mohamed greeted the attendees, exchanging warm Eid wishes. Dr. Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, delivered a sermon that underscored the value of honesty as a cornerstone for trust, national unity, and social stability. He lauded the UAE leadership for their role in fortifying the nation through unity and dedication to national interests.
In a moment of reflection, Sheikh Mohamed, accompanied by prominent UAE leaders such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, recited Al Fatiha to honor the memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Across the UAE, similar scenes unfolded as rulers and senior leaders joined citizens and residents for Eid prayers at major mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed participated in the prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi attended the service at Sharjah Mosque.
Continuing the tradition, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi observed Eid prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque in Ajman. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi was present at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah, and Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain. In Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined worshippers at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque. These gatherings marked the joyful commencement of Eid Al Adha celebrations throughout the UAE, with thousands participating in prayers at mosques nationwide.
