The UAE is set to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its education system, as the Cabinet has given the green light for an AI curriculum in all public and private schools. This initiative aims to equip students with knowledge of AI fundamentals, covering data, algorithms, applications, along with addressing risks and ethical considerations. An essential part of the program involves training 22,000 teachers and educators to effectively incorporate AI into teaching methodologies, assessment processes, lesson planning, and curriculum development. Emphasizing the importance of this development, UAE Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid highlighted the need for continuous learning among teachers to ensure students are ready for the fast-evolving future.

In addition to educational reforms, the Cabinet has launched a new AI advisory system to assist ministers in policy review and strategy formulation. This system comprises 32 specialized AI assistants tasked with analyzing proposals, evaluating their potential impact, studying global practices, and providing recommendations aligned with the UAE’s national priorities. This development underscores the country’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhanced governance.

The Cabinet has also moved forward with regulations concerning autonomous vehicles, establishing a comprehensive framework to facilitate the testing, inspection, registration, and licensing of self-driving vehicles in the UAE. This initiative is expected to contribute to cleaner transportation solutions and help alleviate congestion within the region.

Highlighting the UAE’s strides in digital transformation, the government reported the completion of hundreds of millions of digital transactions through government services, alongside the implementation of numerous digital projects over the past year. This progress marks a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards a fully digital government.

Further broadening its focus on sustainability, the Cabinet has approved a National Ecotourism Policy and reviewed the advancements under the National Strategy to Combat Desertification for 2022–2030. These initiatives are designed to protect and rehabilitate ecosystems, restore land, and safeguard native vegetation, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to environmental conservation.
