A significant rise in temperatures is anticipated across the UAE this week, with the National Centre of Meteorology predicting that certain areas in Abu Dhabi could see temperatures soar to 48°C. The peak of this heatwave is expected on Thursday, with regions such as Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa within the Abu Dhabi emirate forecasted to experience these extreme temperatures. Meanwhile, the city of Abu Dhabi is projected to reach a high of 43°C on the same day.
In comparison, Dubai is expected to have slightly cooler conditions, with temperatures predicted to hit 40°C at their highest on Thursday. This increase in temperature follows a spring season characterized by relatively mild weather and occasional unsettled conditions. Recently, the mercury has consistently surpassed 40°C in various parts of the nation, marking the onset of the summer season.
The UAE is scheduled to officially enter summer in the Northern Hemisphere on June 21. In line with this seasonal shift, meteorologists anticipate that the hot weather will persist across the region over the upcoming weeks.
As the country transitions into summer, residents and visitors in the UAE are advised to prepare for the rising temperatures, which are typical during this time of year. The current forecasts suggest a continuation of the heat trend, underscoring the importance of staying informed about weather updates and taking necessary precautions to cope with the high temperatures.
