The United Arab Emirates is actively participating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain, aiming to enhance industrial cooperation and resilience of supply chains within the region. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE delegation is focusing on fostering deeper industrial integration among GCC countries, promoting the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, and encouraging greater private-sector involvement in regional industrial projects.
The meetings, held from October 6 to 8, coincide with the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. They address key issues related to industry, standards, and metrology, with the goal of bolstering the competitiveness of Gulf industries. By leveraging the combined capabilities of GCC nations, the discussions aim to create more integrated regional value chains, thereby opening up new avenues for cooperation in manufacturing, investment, technology, and supply chains.
During the meetings, the UAE is emphasizing the critical role of artificial intelligence and advanced technology in boosting industrial productivity and competitiveness. Discussions are also focusing on industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and enhancing supply-chain resilience. Several memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships further.
Highlighting the UAE’s industrial achievements, the country’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion in 2025, with Dh92 billion attributed to medium- and high-technology industrial exports. Furthermore, the National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has redirected more than Dh473 billion into the UAE economy, supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.
The UAE’s active participation in the Bahrain meetings underscores its broader efforts to build stronger industrial links across the GCC. These initiatives are part of a strategic vision to develop a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector, fostering growth and innovation across the Gulf region.
