UAE Leaders Honor Teachers’ Impact on Education for World Teachers’ Day

On World Teachers’ Day, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan honored educators for their significant contributions to the nation’s development and the shaping of future generations. Through a personal reflection, Sheikh Mohamed shared a photograph of himself as a 10-year-old alongside a thank-you note he wrote in 1971 to his teacher, Ahmad Ibrahim Mandi, underlining the lasting influence teachers have on their students and society.

Sheikh Mohamed’s tribute was echoed by other UAE leaders. Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised teachers for their vital role in nurturing the country’s human capital. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan also emphasized the critical role of education in the UAE’s growth, acknowledging teachers’ efforts in building knowledge, confidence, and ambition in young people.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the essential part teachers have played in promoting knowledge and preparing future generations, contributing significantly to the UAE’s progress. Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri recognized the central role of educators in achieving the UAE’s long-term educational and developmental objectives.

World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, serves as a reminder of the dedication and impact of educators worldwide. In the UAE, the day provided an opportunity for the nation’s leaders to publicly acknowledge and celebrate the pivotal role teachers play in fostering a knowledgeable and ambitious society.
