The United Arab Emirates has lifted its travel ban on Lebanon, allowing Emirati citizens to visit the country once more. This decision comes after a temporary restriction was imposed due to regional security concerns. Before traveling, UAE citizens must register through the Twajudi emergency assistance service, as stated by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Authorities have emphasized that without completing this registration, travelers will not be permitted to leave through UAE border points.
This travel ban was initially put in place amid heightened regional tensions and had impacted travel to several countries. At that time, Emirati citizens who were in Lebanon were advised to return home and were encouraged to contact UAE authorities for assistance. The lifting of the ban marks a significant change in travel policies and reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressed his approval of the UAE’s decision, noting that it signifies a strong bilateral relationship that could enhance cooperation and foster closer people-to-people connections. This development follows recent discussions between leaders of the UAE and Lebanon, focusing on improving relations, promoting regional stability, and enhancing security cooperation.
